Fake The actions of the Armed Forces may lead to an industrial disaster due to getting into the Zaporizhzhia NPP

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has spread another fake: it seems that Ukraine is shelling the Zaporizhzhia NPP, and because of this threatens Europe with an industrial disaster.

"With maniacal tenacity, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are shelling the Zaporizhzhia NPP, the largest in Europe, not caring about its preservation and violating the resolution and decision of the IAEA general conference. It is obvious that the Ukrainian side is deliberately leading the case to a large-scale industrial disaster. We see that the USA and its European allies are completely satisfied with this," said the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Nechaev.

It is another accusation that has no evidence. On the contrary, it is the troops of the Russian Federation that are creating the prerequisites for an industrial disaster at the nuclear power plant by bringing heavy weapons to the territory of the station. StopFake writes about it.

Thus, on July 21, the Energoatom company reported that the Russian occupiers brought at least 14 units of heavy military equipment with ammunition, as well as weapons and explosives to the engine room of the 1st power unit of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The company said that an arsenal of imported heavy equipment with all ammunition is located next to the equipment that ensures the operation of the turbogenerator - and the use of the weapons could lead to an explosion at the station. Earlier, Energoatom, which controls all operating nuclear plants in the country, has repeatedly stated that Russian forces are turning the ZNPP into a military base and using it as a shield. In addition, the occupiers constantly capture local workers, and there is evidence of their torture. Read more about the situation at the ZNPP here.

Manipulation Metallurgists' Day was celebrated massively in Mariupol

On social networks were spread the video of a concert in Mariupol, at which the residents allegedly celebrated en masse and sang along to "a white swan on the pond..." of the soloist of the Russian group "Lisopoval." Russian media and pro-Russian telegram channels distributed photos and videos of the "very massive" participation of citizens in the concert from the "press service" of the so-called DNR. Then these videos were shared on Facebook. It is manipulation.

Indeed, July 17 is celebrated in Ukraine as the Day of Metallurgical and Mining Workers. A similar holiday is also celebrated in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. As NotaYenota writes, the occupiers decided to hold several events for Metallurgist's Day, including a concert with the participation of a special guest, Serhiy Kuprik. In the comments to the video of the show, Ukrainian users write, "who are our guys fighting for," "look, we felt sorry for them," etc. It is precisely the effect the occupiers sought — to convince the Ukrainians of the "treason" of the Mariupol's residents.

More than 400,000 people used to live in Mariupol. Probably, among them, some have pro-Russian views. However, at least 22,000 Mariupol residents died due to the hostilities. The occupiers forcibly removed thousands of people through the so-called "filtration camps" to Russia. Many citizens left for safer places earlier. According to the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko, 50-100 people still leave the city every day. Therefore, the information of the occupiers that the city's population is now 220,000 is invalid. There are no more than a thousand people in the "holiday" video, but there is no evidence that these are Mariupol residents, not specially brought actors. From another perspective, the picture of the crowd of the event is significantly different. The event is sparsely populated compared to videos from previous years. Probably some of the people were collected by distributing food packages because there are problems with food in the city. The propagandists also attracted Russian bloggers, who, in their comments, talk about the support of the residents of Mariupol by the residents of Russian cities and talk about the "peaceful" life in Mariupol.

Manipulation Russia will help the Ukrainian people eliminate an "anti-people and anti-historical regime"

It was stated by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov. The Russians and Ukrainians allegedly will continue to live together.

According to the Constitution, Ukraine is a sovereign, independent, democratic, and legal state. The only source of power in Ukraine is the people. Using their rights, Ukrainians elected Volodymyr Zelensky as president. Therefore, the popular results will refute the thesis about the "anti-people's regime" in Ukraine. As a foreign state, Russia should not interfere in Ukraine's internal processes at all. Lavrov's words "the historical unity of the Ukrainians and Russians" are one of the cliches of Russian propaganda, built on the history and communist ideology rewritten by the Soviet authorities.

According to the sociological survey, only 2% of Ukrainians have a good attitude towards Russia, while 92% have a bad attitude. Therefore, Lavrov's statement about the further "common life" of Ukrainians and Russians does not correspond to reality.

Fake A missile attack on the port in Odesa destroyed a military infrastructure facility

The Russian media report it concerning the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova. The missiles allegedly destroyed the warehouse of Harpoon anti-ship missiles provided by the USA and knocked out the production facilities of the Ukrainian warship repair enterprise and the warship. It is not true.

On July 22, in Istanbul, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN signed an agreement concerning unblocking ports and exporting Ukrainian grain. Russia signed a mirror agreement with Turkey and the UN. All parties have undertaken obligations on the world stage to ensure the safe movement of Ukrainian grain and related products to world markets.

The next day, July 23, the Russian army hit the port of Odesa, where grain intended for export was located, with four Kalibr missiles. Anti-aircraft defense forces shot down two missiles. Two rockets hit the infrastructure of the port - the pumping station. The shock wave damaged the houses around the port. The grain storage itself was not hit.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the strikes by the Russian military on the Ukrainian port in Odesa.

After the missile strike, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar noted that he had spoken with the Russian side. They told him they were allegedly not involved in the missile strike and were "investigating the issue."

Meanwhile, on July 23, anonymous Telegram channels were already spreading different versions of the causes and consequences of the attack on the port in Odesa:

1) if Russia has nothing to do with the attack, then it may be that the Armed Forces of Ukraine themselves loaded the planes with anti-aircraft missiles for provocation;

2) it flew over the Zavodska harbor, where there are Ukrainian military boats, not grain;

3) Ukrainian military air defenses were stationed in the port - this was the target of the shelling, so "the topic of grain can be closed." Russia has never once admitted its crime, but every time it invents fakes, why does it massively hit Ukraine with missiles.

Fake FThe Mariupol Drama Theater was blown up from the inside; only 14 people died there

The Russian media disseminate this information concerning the so-called "head of the investigative department of the Prosecutor General's Office" of the so-called DPR Oleksiy Kutsurubenko. Apparently, the Drama Theater was blown up not because of an airstrike but due to detonation inside a "caseless explosive device." It is not true.

On March 16, 2022, the Russian army carried out an airstrike on the building of the Donetsk Drama Theater in Mariupol, which was used as a bomb shelter during the city's blockade. Human Rights Watch reported that from 500 to 1,200 civilians were hiding there. At the entrances to the building, the signs "Children" were placed, which were visible from the sky, to indicate that civilians were hiding there.

Due to the constant shelling of the city, rescuers could not free people from the rubble in time. On Friday, March 25, the Mariupol City Council reported that about 300 people died under the ruins of the drama theater. Amnesty International recognized the air strike on the drama theater as a Russian war crime. The organization also noted in its report that it is impossible to establish the exact number of victims since it is unknown how many were under the rubble. The report also notes that the Russians prevented residents and independent journalists from accessing the debris. The Russians cleared the territory with a bulldozer and removed the bodies of the dead without registration. The authorities of Mariupol reported the same, assuming that the Russians act this way to hide the number of victims of the crime. Video of the destroyed drama theater.

The version about the "explosion from the middle" was previously spread concerning the alleged German journalist Thomas Reper, who turned out to be a pro-Russian blogger from Saint Petersburg. Russian propagandists systematically use fakes to hide the war crimes of the Russian army.

Disclosure The Russians are sending out text messages threatening Ukraine with massive missile attacks

The Center for Combating Disinformation reports that recently, the enemy has been sending out messages that "from July 19 to 21, mass rocket attacks are planned" in some cities of Ukraine, and "from the side of Belarus, sabotage groups will advance up to 15-20 kilometers through the territory of Ukraine to distract our troops in other directions".

In this way, the enemy uses a manipulative appeal to an "anonymous authority" because they send supposedly "insider" information from a "reliable source somewhere in the department" to influence Ukrainians. As noted in the Center, since the beginning of the full-scale war, there has been a high probability of missile attacks throughout the territory of Ukraine.

Therefore, you should not ignore air warning signals and must immediately go to the nearest shelter.

Fake A rocket attack on Vinnytsia destroyed the participants of the meeting on the supply of arms to Ukraine

The Russian propaganda media report this concerning the Ministry of Defense of Russia. They said that at the time of the attack, a meeting of the command of the Ukrainian Air Force with representatives of foreign arms suppliers was held in the Officers' House on the issue of the transfer of the next batch of aircraft and weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the organization of repairs to the Ukrainian aviation park. Allegedly, the meeting participants were destroyed due to a rocket attack. It is not true.

It is the second attempt by the Ministry of Defense of Russia to justify a missile attack on the center of Vinnytsia, which killed 23 people, including 3 children. There was no official information about the "destruction" of representatives of the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as reports about injured foreign citizens. The Russians also did not provide any information about who exactly they "destroyed."

As StopFake writes, such a meeting could likely have been held in Vinnytsia - there is indeed a complex of buildings of the Main Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city, located more than one and a half kilometers from the site of the impact. The Officers' House is intended for holding official meetings and cultural events; moreover, it continued to work as a concert venue. On the day of the attack, preparations for a charity concert were also taking place there. The day before, propagandists reported that they launched a rocket attack on the Officers' House because it was a "Nazi" base. As in the case of shelling the "Amstor" shopping center in Kremenchuk and other civilian objects, Russian propaganda comes up with several versions to justify its terrorist actions and war crimes.

Message The more HIMARS are delivered to Ukraine, and the more frequent and tougher Moscow's responses will be

The Russian propaganda media spread this message.

As the Center for Combating Disinformation writes, similar messages are being spread in the media space of Russia after the terrorist attack in Vinnytsia. The Center believes that the occupiers struck the city center, not by accident, and that these actions are revenge for the successful use of HIMARS surface-to-air missiles, due to which the Russians suffered losses along the entire front line. "The destruction of Russian weapons depots, oil depots, and disruption of their logistics routes caused panic in the ranks of the Russian army. Because of this, the enemy resorted to terror tactics to cause a riot in Ukraine, which would force the leadership of our country to sign "peace" on the terms of the Russians. Moreover, Russian propaganda uses methods of intimidation and blackmail to stop the supply of HIMARS surface-to-air missiles, as well as other heavy equipment," the Center reports. President Zelensky called on Ukraine's partners to recognize Russia as a "terrorist state" as soon as possible and to approve new sanctions against Russia after the attack on Vinnytsia.

Fake The Vinnytsia Officers' House was a Nazi base

Russian media and telegram channels report this to justify the missile attack on the center of Vinnytsia. It is not true.

Officers' houses are not military facilities in Ukraine. These are establishments created for recreation - there are concerts, plays, children's clubs, etc. They are not used as military barracks. Before the rocket attack, the Officers' House in Vinnytsia was preparing for a charity concert by the singer Roksolana. One of her team members was killed. In total, at least 23 people were killed, three children and more than 100 people were injured due to the Russian missile attack on the center of Vinnytsia. The rockets destroyed a business center, a medical center, and a parking lot and damaged residential buildings and other objects of civil infrastructure. As EUvsDisinfo fact-checkers write, the representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, and the commissioner for crisis management, Janez Lenarcic, condemned the Russian attack on civilian objects, calling the events in Vinnytsia "the latest atrocity in a long series of brutal attacks on civilians and civilians infrastructure."

Russian propaganda spreads lies about hitting military infrastructure and destroying "Nazis" every time after missile strikes on civilian targets. At first, they reported that they had hit a military unit in the town of Haysyn near Vinnytsia. The alleged "military object" destruction was also said after shelling the shopping center in Kremenchuk.

Fake A Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile hit a residential building in Dnipropetrovsk

Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov wrote on his Telegram channel about the alleged "success" of Ukraine's.

Ukrainian military air defense. On July 16, the Ukrainian military hit a residential building in Dnipropetrovsk with an anti-aircraft missile. The post contains photos of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region. These photos were not taken in Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk is the city's old name) but in Nikopol. On the morning of July 16, the Russians fired 53 rockets at the residential quarters of Nikopol. The enemy was fighting from "Hrady." 12 five-story buildings, 13 private houses, a school, a vocational school building, medical facilities, and industrial enterprise, and a water supply were damaged. Rescuers retrieved two dead people from under the rubble of the building. Another injured woman is in the hospital.

Russian propagandists regularly "wash their hands" of war crimes and blame the Ukrainian side for what was committed. It was not the first time they practiced such lies. On February 26, a Russian rocket destroyed an apartment building on Lobanovskyi Avenue in Kyiv, injuring six people. Then they also spread the fake that the missile allegedly belonged to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Fake A series of missile strikes were carried out on military facilities in Odesa

On the morning of July 16, after the missile attack in Odesa, Russian propaganda on Telegram channels spread information about the destruction of "military targets," "objects of the Armed Forces," and "strike on defense objects." It is not true.

The mayor of Odesa, Henadiy Trukhanov, showed a video from the site of the attack and said that the Russians launched a missile attack using Tu-95 strategic aircraft from the direction of Stavropol. The rocket hit the warehouse of the production and trading company, and a fire broke out with an approximate area of 1000 m2. "Smoke can be seen far beyond Odesa. As of this minute, there are no data on victims and victims," Trukhanov commented.

As StopFake writes, the nature of the fire and the absence of accompanying explosions indicate that there was no ammunition in the warehouse. The fire has been extinguished. In the case of hitting a warehouse with ammunition, objects located near the warehouse would be damaged due to the explosion. Official photos from the scene of the incident were published by "Suspilne Odesa" 3 hours after the missile strike; it can be said that the object was not military.

Fake Russia hit a military unit in the city of Haysyn with missiles

Russian Telegram channels spread information that Russian rockets "hit a military unit" in the town of Haysyn, Vinnytsia Region. In fact, today, the Russians hit the residential quarters of Vinnytsia, where the shopping center, the Officers' House, and residential buildings are located. Serhiy Borzov, the head of Vinnytsia RMA, announced this. At 12 o'clock, the State Emergency Service confirmed the death of 12 people, including a small child, and another 25 people were injured. The final number of victims is currently unknown.

In the video distributed by propaganda channels, including Volodymyr Solovyov's channel, a monument in Vinnytsia in honor of the Air Force of Ukraine, located near the Officers' House, is clearly visible. Other Telegram channels, already after refuting the fake, began to write that they hit the Officers' House as a military object. In fact, it is a cultural center where concerts are held.

It is reported that three Russian rockets hit the office center, nearby residential buildings were also damaged, and the fire spread to the parking lot, where rescuers are currently working.

Fake Ukraine sets fire to wheat fields from a helicopter

Russian mass media spread the information that Ukraine is setting fire to wheat fields from a helicopter. In particular, it was about the Kherson region. This fake is part of the message that the world food crisis and famine are "provoked by Ukraine."

The Russian military is shelling agricultural land with incendiary shells. Earlier, the police of the Kherson region already opened criminal proceedings due to the purposeful destruction of the crop by Russian troops. "Large-scale fires occur daily; hundreds of hectares of wheat, barley, and other grain crops have already burned, and field protection strips and forests are burning. As you know, the destruction of bread is one of the most serious crimes in wartime. Currently, both the de-occupied settlements of the region and those temporarily under occupation are suffering from enemy shelling," the law enforcement officers said on July 9. In addition, there were fires in wheat fields from Russian shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Manipulation Ukraine is putting the whole of Europe at risk by shelling Energodar

The Russian mass media spread the information that the Ukrainian military is allegedly shelling Enerhodar near the infrastructure facilities of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, which "endangers not only Ukraine but also the whole of Europe." These statements are attributed to the head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporizhzhia region. In reality, it was said by a former People's Deputy of Ukraine, collaborator, and protégé of Russia, Yevhen Balytskyi.

The mayor of Enerhodar, Dmytro Orlov, reported that there were indeed explosions in the city's industrial zone. At the same time, he called the attempts of the Russians to blame the Armed Forces of Ukraine for them a provocation to sow panic among the local population and provoke people to simultaneously leave the city en masse. "The occupiers in Enerhodar continue their provocations. On their propaganda channels, they spread statements that the Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled the city's residential quarters as if in broad daylight. Shots and explosions are indeed heard again today in Enerhodar. They echo the industrial zone of the city. But the armed forces have nothing to do with them. When the Armed Forces of Ukraine go on a counteroffensive, Enerhodar will find out about it. Moreover, it will not happen in the way the Rashists are now painting," he said.

In addition, Energoatom reported earlier that Russian occupiers with assault rifles and a representative of Rosatom broke into the premises of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to film a propaganda video there. "This is how the occupiers are creating for the Russian audience a propaganda myth about one of the main achievements of Russia in this war - the successful operation of the stolen ZNPP for the needs of the aggressor country," Energoatom noted.

Fake The house in Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, which was hit by a Russian rocket, is a hostel. It housed troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries

The Kremlin media justify the war crime of the Russian occupiers, who attacked a residential building in Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region, on the evening of July 9, at the address of st. Pivdenna, 4a, as a result of which two entrances were completely destroyed, at least 30 people were under the rubble, including a child, and rescuers found 15 dead.

Russian propaganda assures that it is a fake as if it is not a residential building but a dormitory with military and foreign mercenaries. As evidence, they cite a photo from Chasiv Yar, published on the channel in a Telegram from the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko. Allegedly, in the photo, you can see a man lying on a stretcher in a military uniform, and in the video, you can hear the English language.

As you know, despite numerous testimonies and evidence, Moscow always declares that it does not fire on civilians in Ukraine. When Russian missiles attacked residential buildings, they spread the lie that the Ukrainian military was there and used the residents "as human shields."

Fake Ukraine launched missiles at a shopping mall in Kremenchuk to get more weapons and money from the G7

Russian media claim that Ukraine itself launched a missile attack on the Amstor shopping center in Kremenchuk. It was allegedly done so that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the G7 summit, would have the opportunity to talk about even greater atrocities of Russia and argue why Ukraine needs much more money and weapons from Western partners. In particular, it was claimed by the Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov. However, it is not true.

As US vs DISINFO fact-checkers write, there is ample evidence that it was Russian pilots who struck the shopping center in the city of Kremenchuk. The command of the Ukrainian Air Force established that the X-22 missiles were launched from Tu-22 M3 long-range bombers in the sky over Russia. The bombers took off from an airfield in the Kaluga region and launched missiles while flying over the Kursk region of Russia. The investigation of the Bellingcat group also proves that Russia launched a missile attack on a shopping center with civilian visitors. Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the names of the Russian pilots who attacked the shopping center are already known.

Russia is trying to justify its guilt for a missile attack on a civilian object in which peaceful citizens were. Versions of the events in Kremenchuk from the media and official sources differ. In particular, the Ministry of Defense of Russia recognized the launch of a missile strike with a "high-precision weapon" on the city of Kremenchuk. However, it was noted that a military object was hit. According to their statement, a Western weapon exploded in the warehouse, which caused a fire in a nearby shopping center, which was closed. Nevertheless, this version is also not valid because there was not a single military facility with Western weapons near the mall.

Fake Ukrainian with Nazi tattoos is being held captive in Donetsk

In pro-Kremlin Telegram channels, a photo allegedly taken from a medical inspection in occupied Donetsk is being spread, showing an allegedly captured Ukrainian fighter with tattoos of Nazi symbols. This fake photo is being distributed with the message "about Nazism in Ukraine."

Fake The Ukrainians want to blow up the Kryvorizka TPS and then blame Russia

The Ministry of Defense of Russia spread a fake that the Ukrainians are allegedly preparing to blow up elements of the Kryvorizka TPS to blame later the Russian military for this and show the world community "fake evidence."

Message The tragedy in Kremenchuk was a provocation, and the "fire" was caused by an explosion at an industrial facility nearby

Russian propagandists used various fake justifications for the missile attack on the Kremenchuk, Poltava region shopping center. At first, anonymous Telegram channels did not rule out that the Russian Federation could have carried out the attack, but later they began to look for evidence that the Ukrainians were to blame.

Some wrote about pre-planned provocations in Kremenchuk and called the tragedy a "fire." "The explosion in Kremenchuk may become the largest-scale Ukrainian provocation, which can only be compared with Bucha," writes the Telegram channel, which allegedly found evidence of a planned provocation. This proof consists in the fact that the authors of the channel allegedly found the newly created channel "Who is being followed on Twitter," in which they published videos and a list of accounts of foreign politicians just after the events in Kremenchuk.

Pro-Russian Telegram channels from the "SSU list" promote the message that the mall caught fire due to an explosion at a nearby factory, referring to "numerous videos" from the scene of the events. Instead, they note that "the place of impact is not shown." Propagandists have already resorted to these scenarios after shelling residential buildings in Kyiv and Odesa, the railway station in Kramatorsk, and the genocide in Buch and Irpen.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported in a summary that a strike from a high-precision weapon took place at the plant warehouses, and the flames spread to the shopping center, which was not working. After this statement, anonymous Telegram channels began to spread messages, allegedly Ukrainians "bleached" to the Russians that "there is something" at the object, and the shopping center was deliberately not closed during the alarm.

On June 27, around 4:00 p.m., the Russians fired missiles at the largest shopping center in Kremenchuk, Amstor, which was visited by hundreds of people. The information about the missile attack was confirmed by the head of the Central Security Agency of the region, the mayor of Kremenchuk, and the video was published by the official telegram channel of the President of Ukraine.

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the shopping center was hit by X-22 missiles fired from long-range Tu-22 M3 bombers. "The planes of the Rashists took off from the Shaykovka airfield, and the launches were carried out from the Kursk region," the post reads. The Russians fired the same missiles at an oil refinery in Kremenchuk on May 12, the "Poltavshchyna" publication writes.

Fake Ukrainian special services are filming stories about houses in Mykolaiv that were allegedly destroyed due to Russian shelling

More than 40 actors participated in the production filming, and all participants in the filming were paid 25 dollars each. Such lies are spread by the Ministry of Defense of Russia to hide the crimes of which the Russian military is guilty. Russian propagandists played out a similar scenario in April about the cruel atrocities in Buch, when the pro-Kremlin media wrote different versions, for example, that the Ukrainian military is apparently "disposing corpses in Buch" or that these are not corpses but actors, in the video and photos you can see that they are moving, smoke, etc.

On the morning of June 17, Russian troops hit Mykolaiv with rockets. The rocket attack damaged four residential high-rise buildings and an infrastructure facility. Two people died, and another 20 were injured, including a child.

On Saturday evening, the Russians again attacked Mykolaiv with Kalibr missiles. Two rockets hit a plastic window factory, another hit a residential building, and the next hit a sausage shop.

Fake The UN is lying about Russian war crimes in Yagidne in the Chernihiv region

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed this in an interview with BBC journalist Steve Rosenberg. Steve Rosenberg recalled the facts from the UN report on the events in the village of Yagidne, Chernihiv region: "The Russian military kept 360 people, including 74 children and 5 people with disabilities, in the basement of the school where they set up headquarters for 28 days. The basement was very crowded. For many days people could only sit; there was no place to lie. There was no toilet, water, or ventilation in the room. Ten older adults died."

After counting the number of victims and describing the conditions of detention of civilians, the journalist asked Lavrov whether such actions of the Russian military were a fight against Nazism. Lavrov accused the UN Secretary General and UN staff of spreading fake news about war crimes. "Unfortunately, you know that international officials, including the High Commissioner for Human Rights, including, unfortunately, the UN Secretary General, and many other United Nations officials, are vulnerable to Western pressure. And very often, they act as a mouthpiece for the fake news that the West spreads, "Lavrov replied. The village of Yahidne is located 140 kilometers north of Kyiv, near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. The Russian army occupied it a few days after the start of a full-scale invasion.

The Russian military drove 360 villagers to the basement of the school, where they were held for 28 days. At the time of the hostage-taking, the youngest of them was one and a half months old, and the oldest was 93 years old. Among the detainees were 74 children and 5 infants.

The hostages were in the basement around the clock. The Russian military used them as a human shield for their headquarters, which they organized in the school building. People were left in a confined space without ventilation, medication, and the ability to move. They slept sitting or standing. According to the hostages, the daily ration was only 200 grams of soup for two.

Fake Children born in the occupied territories after February 24 and orphans will automatically receive Russian citizenship

The Russian occupiers are spreading information that children born after February 24 and orphans in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts will automatically receive Russian citizenship. At the same time, refer to the words of the so-called "deputy head of the Kherson CMA" Kyrylo Stremousov. Ukrainian officials refuted fake. "We do not recognize these documents, no matter what happens. If he [the child] is born in Kherson, he will be a citizen of Ukraine. And after the end of hostilities will receive a document, a Ukrainian birth certificate," - said the legal chairman of the Kherson regional for the sake of Oleksandr Samoylenko. He calls such ideas of the occupiers' populism and propaganda. "How to document this? All these children [orphans] have birth certificates. Will they try to give them birth certificates, where the place of birth is recorded - the Kherson region of the Russian Federation? But there is no such thing... None of the so-called documents will have legal force," - the official noted. It will be recalled that Russia is trying to issue its passports to adult citizens in the occupied territories. In particular, the propaganda produces fakes about the number of issued Russian passports, calling the "sky-high" numbers.

Manipulation More than 100,000 residents of Zaporizhzhia have applied for Russian citizenship

The Russian newspaper Izvestia published an article stating that more than 100,000 Zaporizhzhia residents had already applied for Russian citizenship, and thousands had prepared the necessary documents. The publication refers to the statement of the collaborator Vladimir Rogov, appointed by the occupiers as the head of the so-called council of the military-civil administration of the Zaporizhzhia region, on the air of the Russian propaganda TV channel "Solovyov Live."

"There are already more than 100 thousand people - this is 100% who are now in queues. And thousands of people who have already prepared packages of documents," Rogov said. The article also mentions the following: "In the first three days, the city's passport office [Berdyansk] processed 25 applications for Russian citizenship. There are 70 more people on the list… Several residents of Melitopol have also already been given Russian identity cards, Rogov said on June 11. On the same day, Vladimir Saldo, the head of the Kherson region's Military-Civil Administration (MCA), received Russian citizenship. In addition to him, the first passports of the Russian Federation that day were handed over to 25 more residents of the region."

The high-profile title of the article is another fake propaganda machine. First, Zaporizhzhia is not occupied but is part of Ukraine. Therefore, mentioning Zaporizhzhia in the title is already a manipulation to attract attention. Secondly, in addition to the actual regional center, there are two large cities in the region - Berdyansk (population - of 109 thousand people as of 2020) and Melitopol (almost 150 thousand people as of 2021), which are now temporarily occupied. That is, when the occupiers talk about 100 thousand inhabitants of Zaporizhzhia, it is rather about the number of Ukrainians who remained in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region for various reasons.

In addition, the occupiers are actively spreading information that obtaining Russian passports has also begun in Kherson. However, for Kherson (a regional center with a population of almost 280 thousand as of January 2022), they show much more modest figures - there only 1.5 thousand people "expressed a desire to change citizenship."

Fake Russian air defense shot down a Ukrainian AN-26 aircraft carrying weapons in the sky over Odesa

Information about this is disseminated online. The reports claim that the Russian system allegedly shot down a Ukrainian AN-26 plane with weapons and military equipment consignment over Odesa on June 5. The authors of such posts refer to the message of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. However, it is not valid.

Fake The Armed Forces "fires again" on Kharkiv

Russian propaganda media allegedly wrote about this concerning eyewitness accounts - a resident of Kharkiv. According to the fact-checkers of the Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Center, propaganda reports say that Kharkiv residents who have been in the city since the beginning of the "special military operation" are aware that the Ukrainian Armed Forces brought a large number of civilian casualties. However, this is not true. In fact, Kharkiv, like other cities in Ukraine, is being shelled by the enemy, Russia, which started the war. Instead, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are defending the country and repelling the Russian military. However, it is advantageous for Russian propagandists to claim that Ukraine is killing its own inhabitants to justify the war. However, it was the Russian occupiers who destroyed Pivnichna Saltivka. There is ample testimony from witnesses who said that the shelling came from Belgorod from settlements along the ring road, where Russian troops were stopped. In addition, experts from the Conflict Intelligence Team found that the Russians had fired on Saltivka, including by air, and that the shelling of the Rohani and Horizont areas had ceased after the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to drive the Russian occupiers out of Mala Rohan. The destroyed equipment of the occupiers, from which they fired on the city, can still be seen in the village. "As for the village of Zhukovsky, it is almost daily fired on by Russian troops from the side of Belgorod. It is because the Armed Forces managed to advance the least in this direction. Therefore, as several Armed Forces manage to push the occupiers to a distance from which they cannot reach the city, the shelling stops," experts from the Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Center explain.
