Manipulation More than 3 billion people abstained from voting on Russia's occupation of Ukrainian territories

Such messages are spread in pro-Russian Telegram channels. While voting for the UN General Assembly Resolution, 3 billion people allegedly abstained from voting to condemn the illegal actions of Russia and the occupation of Ukrainian territories. It is manipulation.

In fact, the UN General Assembly condemned the pseudo-referendums that Russia organized in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. The resolution was supported by 149 out of 193 members of the General Assembly, five countries voted against it, and another 35 countries abstained from voting. Propagandists are manipulating this choice of 35 countries. In fact, representatives of countries show not so much the will of the people as the ruling party's position in the state vote at the meetings of the General Assembly. Each UN member state has its interests first and foremost. Before voting, the representatives of the UN member states do not conduct any survey among the population. So only 35 countries abstained from voting. Their total population is more than 3 billion, but this doesn't affect anything. Fact-checkers of the Zaporizhzhia Investigation Center drew attention to the manipulation.

Russian propaganda systematically resorts to manipulations to pass off what is desired as real facts.

Fake The Embassy of Serbia in Ukraine was urgently closed

Such information appeared in the Russian media the other day. Russia's closest ally in Europe is allegedly closing its embassy in Kyiv due to danger. Subsequently, the Ukrainian media spread the mass "dumping."

The "news" allegedly said that official Belgrade was recalling diplomatic mission employees "for security reasons" from Kyiv and calling on Serbs to leave the territory of Ukraine. In fact, Serbian diplomats left Ukraine in March. It was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleg Nikolenko, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.

"Employees of the Embassy of Serbia left Ukraine at the beginning of March. Since then, Serbian diplomats continue to work from Belgrade," Oleg Nikolenko said in a comment to "European Truth."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia announced on March 3 that the embassy was temporarily closed. The diplomatic and consular mission employees were evacuated to Belgrade, where they continue to perform their duties.

The news about the closure of the Serbian embassy was spread in the information space deliberately to create the impression of increased threats to Kyiv.

Fake The German TV channel ZDF showed a map of Ukraine without territories annexed by Russia

Russian media and some users on the Internet spread the news that the German state TV channel ZDF used a new map of Ukraine in its news broadcast — without the territories annexed by Russia. The plot was allegedly devoted to the disconnection of water and electricity. Behind the presenter was a screen with a new map - without Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk regions, Crimea, writes Stop Fake.

However, the shared image was edited because a map of Ukraine was deliberately added to the background without the territories of Ukraine annexed and temporarily occupied by Russia, the ZDF channel reported on its Twitter page. The message says that the photo shared on the network is an edited frame from the Heute Journal news program from October 10, and the plot is related to the investigation of sabotage at gas stations. ZDF also assured: they have never used such a "map" of Ukraine.

Russian propagandists used this fake to confirm the alleged "recognition" by the German state TV channel of the annexed territories being part of Russia. Thus, they want to show that the international community accepts the "new reality" and is gradually putting up with Russia's occupation of parts of Ukraine. It is not the first case of editing screenshots from the TV screen. Thus, propagandists distort reality by inventing facts that don't exist to support their messages.

Message The supply of air defense systems to Ukraine continues the war

The Russian media write about this concerning the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmytro Peskov. The aid allegedly won't change the goals of the so-called "special operation" and its final result but will only prolong the "conflict" and make it more painful for Ukrainians.

Propagandists have been spreading this message periodically since the beginning of the great war after reports of new weapons supplies to Ukraine. In this way, they are trying to discredit the supply of air defense systems for the protection of the civilian population of Ukraine, which the Western partners reported after the massive missile attacks on October 10-11. As the Center for Combating Disinformation writes, the supply of air defense systems will nullify one of Russia's biggest trump cards — missile attacks.

Previously propagandists wrote that the Ukrainian military refuses to use "Bayraktary" to discredit Western weapons. Supposedly, Ukraine will no longer receive American HIMARS MLRS and their missiles. France is complicit in "crimes" against the civilian population, as Ukraine fires at Donbas from French self-propelled guns, "Caesar," etc.

Fake The embassies of the EU countries have started an urgent evacuation from Kyiv

This information was spread by Russian propagandists. They are all being “relocated” to Poland. It is not true. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen reported that she was in a shelter with hundreds of Kyivans during the shelling. "With hundreds of Kyivans in the shelter. I am amazed at the calm that prevails here while Russia is shelling the playgrounds in the center of Kyiv. #StandWithUkraine," she shared on Twitter.

According to the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink, American diplomats who work at the US Embassy in Kyiv are safe after another wave of Russian strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine. "I am grateful to everyone who responded and works for our safety. My heart breaks with pain for those who suffered in Kyiv and throughout Ukraine," Bridget A. Brink wrote on Twitter.

British Ambassador in Ukraine Melinda Simmons is also in Kyiv. "Getting around the center of Kyiv. The embassy staff is fine. My thoughts are now with the wounded. Huge gratitude to the Ukrainians who are the first to respond," the ambassador shared.

Russian propaganda deliberately spread a fake about the evacuation of embassies today, after massive rocket attacks, to emphasize the life-threatening situation throughout Ukraine. Thus, the propagandists try to drive as many Ukrainians as possible into a state of stress and anxiety.

Fake The International Committee of the Red Cross has temporarily suspended its work in Ukraine for security reasons

This information is spreading on social networks. The organization's press secretary allegedly told Reuters journalists about this after massive Russian missile attacks this morning.

Andriy Kruglashov, the adviser to the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, denied this information: "We are with the people and for the people who need us. Where needed and as close as we can. As much as it takes." There is also a rebuttal from the International Committee of the Red Cross on the official Twitter page.

In Ukraine, the International Committee of the Red Cross helps people affected by the conflict in the East of the country and supports the work of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine. The organization has telephone numbers of hotlines, which you can contact with questions about the disappearance of a relative due to the conflict in Donbas or about humanitarian aid. As of 16:20 on October 10, the hotline for the search for missing persons is open, and all lines are busy. Moreover, the official pages of the International Committee of the Red Cross are active on social networks.

Today there were published recommendations on how to behave in the event of shelling and after the end of the bombing. The Reuters article that some are referring to says that just today after Russia fired missiles at cities across Ukraine, the International Committee of the Red Cross teams suspended operations.

The organization has about 700 employees who work in 10 locations across Ukraine and deliver aid and medicine. They can`t do this under fire. If the danger passes, the International Committee of the Red Cross will resume full-fledged work in Ukraine.

Manipulation The Austrians demand to stop supporting Ukraine

Russian media write about this. The majority of Austrians allegedly want their country to maintain neutrality.

Allegedly, for this, it is necessary to stop helping Kyiv and lift sanctions from Russia. The motivation for such statements was allegedly added by an article in the Austrian edition of Express with an open letter of invitation. 47,000 Austrians have already signed it. It is not so.

According to the fact-checkers of The Insider project, the letter published in Express contains pro-Russian rhetoric. Apart from the total number of signatories, there is no other information that could be used to claim that the letter was signed by Austrians. The letter doesn`t include names or pseudo-users, so there is no evidence that these are people and not bots. Anyone from any country can register and vote, as the site does not verify at least the email address. The population of Austria is about 9 million, so even 47 thousand signatories are only 0.5%, not the majority, as agitprop claims.

The author of the "blogger and entrepreneur" initiative is Gerald Markel. He blogs about politics on Telegram. During the coronavirus pandemic, he spread fakes about the alleged sudden death from vaccination, which he called fascism, and compared the government's policy to 1938. Markel also supports Vladimir Putin's policy.

Message France is an "accomplice of genocide" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine

This message is spread by pro-Russian media. Allegedly, Ukraine is shelling Donbas with French self-propelled guns "Caesar", therefore France is complicit in "crimes" against the civilian population.

The fact-checkers of the EUvsDisinfo project drew attention to the message. Russian propaganda has been spreading the narrative that "Ukraine is shelling Donbas" since 2014. Agitprop baselessly called these actions genocide.

The atrocities of the Russian army in Ukraine have signs of genocide. Western countries are helping Ukraine resist the Russian invasion and supplying the necessary weapons. In particular, France provided the Armed Forces with 18 Caesar howitzers as part of military aid. It is also planned to deliver several additional units of this weapon (from 6 to 12). These self-propelled guns belong to the category of precision weapons, which limits collateral damage.

Earlier, propagandists spread fakes that the Ukrainians sold self-propelled howitzers "Caesar" to the Russians, and it turned out that they were allegedly not very effective weapons.

Message Russia "has the right" to Ukrainian territories, since the West recognized the independence of Kosovo

The Russian media write about this regarding the words of Vasily Nebenzya, the permanent representative of Russia at the UN.

For example, Western delegations demonstrate double standards by denying residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine the right to self-determination. This situation allegedly has no difference from the exit of Kosovo from Serbia. Nebenzya referred to the decision of the International Court of Justice of the United Nations in 2008. He also said that annexing Ukrainian territories to Russia is more legal because of "referendums".

The referendum in Kosovo was held from September 26 to 30, 1991. It was boycotted by the Serbian minority living in the region. The turnout of Albanians was 87%, and 99% of them voted "for" independence. Kosovo Albanians were not in danger at that time. Yugoslavia no longer existed, and there was a foreign peacekeeping contingent in Serbia. Instead, in Ukraine, Russia held "referendums" in violation of international law and under the pressure of armed soldiers.

So there is no question of the legitimacy and voluntariness of the expression of will. Democratic countries unanimously declared their non-recognition of the results of the illegal "referendums" held by Russia in the temporarily occupied territories, even on the eve of their holding.

Since 2020, 97 states out of 193 (50%) UN member states have recognized the independence of Kosovo; 22 out of 27 (81%) member states of the European Union; 26 out of 30 (87%) NATO member states. Among those who didn`t recognize the independence of Kosovo were Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, and Ukraine.

The UN International Court of Justice has never recognized the independence of Kosovo. The court ruled that the declaration of independence adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo didn`t violate international law. At the same time, the court didn`t consider the legality of unilateral secession and the question of Kosovo's independence.

It is not the first time that Russia uses manipulative statements about the Western "policy of double standards", although it actively uses them itself. Earlier, propagandists wrote that accusations against Russia regarding the violation of the Budapest Memorandum are "impossible" because "Russia's opponents have repeatedly disrespected the fundamental norms of international law, the principles of the UN and the OSCE." The message was noticed by the fact-checkers of The Insider publication.

Manipulation Ukraine is suspected of sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipeline

Russian media write about this. The reports refer to the materials of the German publication Der Tagesspiegel, which published the article based on information from its sources. This is manipulation.

StopFake's fake checkers found an article referenced by Russian media. It was published on September 27 in Der Tagesspiegel Background in the Energy and Climate section. This is the author's column of the journalist Jakob Schlandt, hidden from free viewing through personal registration.

In fact, the author considers the possible involvement of both Russia and Ukraine in the damage to the gas pipeline. However, the author of the article calls the accusations against Ukraine "speculations that can`t be substantiated in any way." Russia, in his opinion, has more reasons to carry out such an attack, since blackmail around energy carriers has been ongoing on the part of Russia for several months. The author also notes that the level of gas in Germany's storage facilities continues to rise steadily, even though the gas pipeline has been down for four weeks. According to the Federal Agency for Network Technologies, the current level of occupancy of German gas storage facilities is about 91%.

According to CNN, on September 26 and 27, European security officials observed Russian Navy support ships and Russian submarines near the leak sites in the Nord Stream pipeline.

Two Western intelligence officers and another source familiar with the issue gave the newspaper this information. So far, the involvement of the ships in the explosions on the gas pipeline has not been established, investigators are studying the evidence.

The Russian media manipulates the statements in Der Tagesspiegel Background, deliberately suppresses information about alleged sabotage by Russia, and focuses only on Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian propagandists said that the US was supposedly "behind the explosions" on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

Message The West should hold responsibility for what happens after the illegal referendums in the occupied territory

Russian propaganda media disseminate information that the West is responsible for everything that happens after the referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Like, because the EU can put pressure on Kyiv to negotiate with Russia, and if not, then Washington should do it. However, the West, according to propagandists, is doing the opposite, trying to frustrate any attempt at negotiations. And accordingly, he is responsible for what is happening in the occupied territories.

Analysts of the EU vs Disinfo project drew attention to this message. In fact, the spread of such messages is part of a wider disinformation campaign designed to justify Russia's illegal annexation of Ukrainian territory after the fake referendums. By blaming the West, propagandists are trying to divert responsibility from Russia for the consequences of its illegal actions. This is a kind of attempt to put pressure on Western countries to force Ukraine to accept the expected results of the so-called referendums.

In fact, it is Russia that is responsible for everything that happens in Ukraine because it was this country that started the bloody war, occupied Ukrainian territories and held illegal referendums there forcing people to vote for joining Russia at gunpoint.

Message Volodymyr Zelenskyi is a puppet of the West, and the "Kyiv regime" is similar to apartheid

Such information is disseminated by Russian propaganda media, and the thesis is also circulated in anonymous telegram channels.

Reports say Western puppet Volodymyr Zelenskyi is using Ukrainians in his fake political campaign, and there are alleged similarities between South Africa's apartheid regime and Zelensky's.

Like, they have the same sponsors and the same tactics: they tend to separate people by ethnicity. In such reports, they add that the "peoples" of Donbas, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions have the right to self-determination, because "human rights are not only for Americans".

Analysts of the EU vs Disinfo project drew attention to the message on the network. According to them, such misinformation fuels the ongoing pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative that Ukraine discriminates against Russians living on its territory and that the legitimate government of Kyiv is a puppet in the hands of the West.

However, Ukraine is a sovereign state. Only Russia denies its sovereignty and existence, declaring that Ukrainians and Russians are one people.

Also in Ukraine, Russians are not discriminated against on the principle of apartheid. In Kyiv, they adopted the Law on ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language without discrimination of any languages. Russian and other minority languages can be freely used in private communication, religious ceremonies, book publishing, the media and education. Ukraine is not a Russophobic, anti-Russian country. Relations between the countries escalated after the occupation by Russia in 2014. In addition, the fake referendums that Russia held in September 2022 have nothing to do with the right to self-determination, human rights and the rule of law.

Message Europe is turning into a void

This thesis is spread by Russian propagandists. Like, because of the energy crisis in Europe and economic difficulties against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, the West is falling apart. Propagandists claim in their reports that the EU will become deindustrialized due to high energy prices caused by Russia's decision to cut gas supplies to Europe.

However, this is not true. After all, despite the Kremlin’s decision to limit gas supplies to Europe and other consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine, the EU economy is recovering from the crisis caused by COVID-19. For example, according to a recent forecast by the European Commission, growth of 2.6% is expected in 2022. Inflation is also expected to average 7.6%.

According to EU vs Disinfo analysts, the EU statistical office Eurostat indicates that in the 2nd quarter of 2022, the eurozone GDP grew by 0.8%, employment grew by 0.4%. Compared to the same quarter last year, seasonally adjusted GDP grew by 4.1% in the euro area and by 4.2% in the EU in the second quarter of 2022. The European Investment Bank estimates that real economic growth in 2022 will be below 3%, 1% below the forecast at the beginning of the year. It also notes that EU member states will have to deal with rising prices for households and industry, disruptions in trade, and so on. However, the EU is in a good position to avoid recession.

This is not the first time Russian propaganda has been spreading the message that the countries of the West are "decaying" and will soon fall apart. Thus, the Kremlin puts pressure on Western governments and seeks to blackmail them by creating public panic over energy insecurity/cost of electricity, etc.

Manipulation Ukraine will no longer be supplied with heavy weapons from the West

Information that the West is no longer ready to supply Ukraine with heavy weapons is spread by pro-Kremlin propaganda media. It is also distributed in anonymous telegram channels.

Such reports, ostensibly citing Bloomberg, claim that neither the United States nor the EU countries are allegedly ready to increase the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine during the war with Russia.

However, according to StopFake, the original Bloomberg article does not say that the West is no longer ready to supply heavy weapons, but discusses the difficulties that arise in each of the countries with the supply of one or another type of weapon.

After the announcement of mobilization in Russia, as well as the holding of pseudo-refendums in the EU countries and the United States, they announced the need to continue supporting Ukraine and increasing the supply of weapons. The Kremlin needs such messages in order to stake out the opinion that soon Ukraine will be left without weapons and will not be able to repulse the Russian invaders.

Also, such messages create the appearance that all foreign partners of Ukraine are becoming indifferent to it.

Fake French President Emmanuel Macron said that NATO troops are on the border with Russia

Allegedly, Macron's quote is being distributed through pro-Russian resources. He seems to be claiming that “all of NATO has already come to the Russian borders,” but it is still not clear what Putin wants from NATO. This quote is fake.

Emmanuel Macron did not make such a statement. Fact-checkers of the VoxCheck project note that not a single French media wrote about this. On the contrary, in his speech at the Madrid NATO summit on June 30, 2022, Macron rejected all claims that the war and its consequences allegedly depend on the hypothetical desire of the West. “Only Russia is responsible for this war, as well as for the serious consequences that it brings to the whole world, in energy security and food security in particular,” Macron said.

Manipulation Ukraine confirmed NATO's intention to enter the war against Russia

Such "sensational news" is reported by the Russian media with reference to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba after the September 22 meeting of the UN Security Council on maintaining peace and security in Ukraine. Like, NATO will enter into a conflict against Russia on the side of Ukraine. This is not true.

At the meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to Ukraine, there was no talk of "NATO's intention to enter the war against Russia." Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba only commented on Ukraine's readiness to join the ranks of the Alliance. The diplomat also stressed that it was Russia, having unleashed a war against Ukraine, that violated the basic principles of international law, and now the threat of war hangs over all countries.

Answering a question about the prospects for Ukraine's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry replied: "I think that now NATO wants to join Ukraine." It was this quote by Kuleba that the Russian media used to create fake news about "NATO's entry into the war", but this was not even discussed - this is Russian disinformation. Kuleba spoke about security guarantees and the right to self-defense of Ukraine in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Fake International Criminal Court “ignores crimes against Donbas”

Russian media write about this with reference to Foreign Minister Serhii Lavrov. Like, the International Criminal Court neglected to investigate crimes against humanity and war crimes committed on the territory of the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Allegedly, more than 3,000 messages about crimes against the inhabitants of Donbass were sent there, and there was no reaction. It is not true.

Since 2014, the International Criminal Court has been investigating alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Ukraine in connection with Russian aggression. In particular, we are talking about the case “Probable crimes committed in the context of the situation in Ukraine since November 21, 2013”. The IСС takes into account Ukrainian and Russian data, evidence from third countries and information from civil society.

According to StopFake, Ukraine's first appeal to the IСС concerned crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine from November 21, 2013 to February 22, 2014. In September 2015, Ukraine filed a second appeal, in which it asked to investigate crimes on the territory of Ukraine committed from February 20, 2014 and without a specified end date.

In December 2020, the IСС announced its readiness to launch a criminal investigation into the commission of war crimes in the temporarily occupied Crimea and in Eastern Ukraine. The Office of the Prosecutor of the IСС concluded that crimes against humanity and war crimes were committed in Ukraine in the context of Russian aggression. The International Criminal Court noted that despite the fact that Ukraine initiated the investigation, the IСС during the preliminary investigation also took into account the data of Russia.

Ukraine now has the largest team of International Criminal Court experts in history, with a total of 42 investigators, forensic experts and support staff to investigate crimes under the authority's jurisdiction. The Office of the Prosecutor of the IСС in the spring of 2022 joined the Joint Investigation Team to Investigate Russian War Crimes in Ukraine (JIT). JIT was created by Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Slovakia. The group also includes the EU Criminal Justice Agency (Eurojust), where 27 EU member states and 10 other states are represented.

Thus, Russia is trying to manipulate information in order to cover up its crimes or spread messages ahead of time in order to reject the accusations made as a result of the international investigation.

Message The EU is committing geopolitical “suicide” by supporting Ukraine in the war

The Kremlin media is spreading this message using international affairs specialist Mark Gaziq, political commentator Rachel Marsden, and Professor John Laughland.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, the Russian narratives are repeated by China Daily. They write that the EU will be in a situation of “the greatest loser, regardless of how the conflict between Russia and Ukraine unfolds”. At the same time, the authors of the material note that the dependence of most countries on Russian gas is not very high, but in general, the future of the EU as an independent political pole in the global geopolitical arena “looks unattainable” precisely because of the support of Ukraine.

Russian propagandists systematically put pressure on the EU leadership, individual member states and citizens through assistance to Ukraine. Russia resorts to outright gas blackmail, saying that without Russian gas Europe will slide into the Middle Ages, as if the US is pushing Europe into the abyss. They also wrote earlier that allegedly in the EU they started talking about the gradual lifting of sanctions against Russia.

Fake Ukrainian arms dealers detained in Germany

Kremlin media circulated on social media a video allegedly showing an anti-aircraft missile confiscated by the German police. Allegedly, the Bremen police detained Ukrainians who wanted to sell such weapons on the black market. Like, these weapons were actually delivered to Ukraine from the West as military aid. This fake was also spread by the Deputy Russian Ambassador to the UN, Dmytro Polianskyi, with the comment that "former Western partners warned of such a threat to their own people". These messages are not true.

The German edition of Spiegel denied the Kremlin fake. The publication quotes a Bremen police message on Twitter, which says that they have nothing to do with this video and did not arrest a single Ukrainian who sold weapons.

The fakeness of the video is also indicated by the audio track and it is identical to the video from January 2022, in which the police were trying to stop filming an arrest at a demonstration in Thuringia.

Manipulation UK regrets not inviting Putin to Elizabeth II’s funeral

This manipulation was spread by the Russian media. Allegedly, the absence of the leader of the Russian Federation is regretted in London because he should have been invited to the farewell ceremony for the Queen, so this would help improve relations between Moscow and London.

In fact, the Russian media, according to StopFake, referred to a column in the Independent newspaper run by a pro-Russian author. And there is not a word in it about the fact that in the UK they “regret” that they did not invite Putin to the ceremony. She writes only that he should have been invited to improve relations between countries. There were no official reports of regret from London.

Fake Olena Zelenska called the British freaks during an interview with a BBC journalist

Such messages are distributed on social networks, in particular, in the Russian segment of Facebook. They say that the first lady of Ukraine made a loud statement, allegedly calling the British freaks worried about every penny at a time when she herself was rescuing children from under the rubble of bombings. The author of the message wrote that this insult caused a crushing flurry of criticism of Olena Zelenska. However, there was no such quote in the interview at all.

In fact, according to fact-checker Myth Detector, the quote used is fictitious. Actually, the first lady of Ukraine never even used the phrase "British freaks", and also did not say that she got the victims out of the rubble. In an interview with the BBC Zelenska answering the questions of a journalist said that the economic crisis also affects Ukraine, and along with rising prices, Ukrainians are counting the dead.

The report also said that Olena Zelenska was having a good time in London during the bombing of Kyiv and only returned to Ukraine after the situation had calmed down. The day after the start of Russia's war against Ukraine, the president announced that he himself was staying in Kyiv, and his family was in Ukraine, and they were not going to leave the country. There is no evidence that Olena Zelenska left the country.

Propagandists spread these messages to discredit the leadership of Ukraine by saying that Ukrainians despise the people as the first lady did.

Message Kyiv puts pressure on the leadership of Moldova

This thesis is spread by Russian propagandists. Like, the actions of Moldova are not independent, because they are completely controlled by the so-called external forces. In particular, Ukraine and Western countries. For example, propagandists claim that Kyiv encourages the Moldovan authorities to take active steps to destabilize the situation in Transnistria.

According to EU vs Disinfo project analysts, Moldova suspended all flights to Russia in February 2022, after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, on September 9, 2022, the private company AIR Moldova announced that it would resume flights to Moscow on October 1, 2022. A few days later, the National Civil Aviation Administration announced a ban on all flights to Russia, citing "air navigation security".

Manipulation Kyiv no longer trusts its Western partners

Such a statement is spread by Russian propaganda, allegedly referring to the words of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov.

We are talking about Reznikov's speech during the Yalta European Strategy. During the speech, in particular, it was noted that Ukraine will never make concessions, and our goal is de-occupation up to the 1991 borders. However, according to Russian propaganda, Reznikov also said that Ukraine no longer trusts its partners. It is not true.

According to StopFake, in fact, the minister's statement was to claim that Ukraine no longer trusts formal peace protocols. Such as the Minsk agreements and the Budapest memorandum. Therefore, according to Reznikov, the upcoming act of capitulation of Russia should be formalized in the form of a multilateral agreement with security guarantees from partners that Ukraine trusts and will trust.

Message Liz Truss is incompetent and her politics is Russophobia

The new British Prime Minister Liz Truss has become the object of undisguised discredit from Russian media representatives and authorities. They declare its total incompetence, mediocrity, Russophobia and express skepticism about the ability to overcome the energy crisis and food inflation as a result of anti-Russian sanctions adopted by Britain.

The media also cite Russian dictator Putin, who allegedly said that the procedure for electing the head of state in Britain is undemocratic, since it takes place within the framework of the ruling party, and not with the participation of the people.

Such reports are trying to show in a bad light an unfriendly politician, which means that they indicate expectations of tough actions against Russia and in support of Ukraine in the confrontation with Moscow.

After Johnson's resignation, propaganda claimed that Britain's attitude towards Ukraine could well change, because he allegedly did not have support precisely because of his actions against Ukraine.

However, Liz Truss has already promised  “to become Ukraine's biggest friend” and declared that “Putin will fail and face the strategic defeat in Ukraine, and Russia will be limited in the future”.

Liz Truss took office on September 05, after winning the election to lead the Conservative Party against her opponent Rishi Sunak, with 81,326 votes to 60,399.

Message The West dreams of the death of Ukraine

This thesis is spread by pro-Kremlin propagandists. They say that it is the leaders of the West who incite discord and that the West will allegedly support Ukraine in the fight against Russia "to the last Ukrainian." Thus, propaganda is trying to create the appearance that the West wants to destroy Ukraine and Ukrainians.

In fact, Western states, in particular the European Union, support Ukraine's resistance against Russian aggression and took part in the Crimean Platform initiated by Ukraine. It was after this event that Russian propagandists began to actively promote the thesis that the West wants the death of Ukraine. The platform aims to increase the effectiveness of the international response to the long-term occupation of Crimea, increase international pressure on the Kremlin, prevent further human rights violations and protect the victims of the occupation regime, as well as achieve the main goal - the de-occupation of Crimea and its peaceful return to Ukraine.
