Disclosure The Russians mistook the abutment of the old bridge for the destroyed "barge with the Ukrainian landing party"

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the so-called great success of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine. Like, the Russian military destroyed a barge with a landing force of the MTR of the GUR of Ukraine, who was trying to capture the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

The telegram channel of the ministry published a video showing how helicopters are shooting at an object called a barge. However, all this is not true. According to The Insider, the shot object really resembles a barge from afar, but without deck superstructures, that is, it is not self-propelled. Such a barge can move only with the help of a tug or a pusher, but it is not in the frame. “What is the point of landing on an unguided floating craft is not clear. In the Gray Zone Telegram channel, they were able to recognize the "barge". It turned out to be the support of the bridge across the Dnipro near Enerhodar.

The bridge was built in 1943 by the German invaders and six months later it was blown up by German sappers during the retreat. In this form, the remainder of the bridge stood for 78 years until the victorious strike of Russian helicopters. Writing stories about the successes of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine, propaganda seeks to somehow hide its own failures, in particular, their retreat due to pressure from the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

Message Ukraine will send punishers to the liberated territories in the Kharkiv region, mocking civilians

Such a message is being spread by Russian propagandists against the backdrop of the liberation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Russian invaders of territories in the Kharkiv region. The reports say that for people living in the liberated territories of the Kharkiv region, a big problem will be that immediately after the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and maybe with them, real punishers will come. Like, they showed themselves perfectly in the fight against civilians even before the war: they fearlessly killed prisoners, fought against the flow of humanitarian aid, etc. The authors of such messages add that people in the liberated territories need to be careful.

In addition, according to the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Russian propaganda accuses the Ukrainian authorities of plans to persecute traitors and collaborators among the residents of the territories of Ukraine de-occupied from the Russian occupiers. And Russia calls on international organizations to “force Kyiv to abandon punitive measures against civilians”; appeals to all UN states "to influence Kyiv in order to prevent severe humanitarian consequences for civilians"; accuses the Armed Forces of Ukraine of "looting, torture, beatings, in order to later shift the responsibility for their crimes to Russia".

In fact, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not persecute the civilian population in the liberated Ukrainian territories. Since the liberation of cities and villages from Russian invaders, dozens of videos have appeared on the network, which show how civilians welcome the Ukrainian military with hugs and thank them for their struggle. However, Russia once again seeks to create the image of evil Ukrainians-punishers who mock their citizens; torture them, etc.

Thus, the propaganda wants to justify the war that Russia started in Ukraine. Like, the Russian army came precisely to liberate the Ukrainians from the captivity of the terrible Nazi punishers. In addition, the Kremlin seeks to create an alibi for itself regarding the possible discovery of war crimes by the Russian army in the liberated territories in order to avoid negative reputational consequences by analogy with the tragedy in Bucha.

Fake The former head of the Kyiv police is a neo-Nazi and has a tattoo in the form of swastika

Photos of a man with a bunch of Nazi tattoos are circulating on social networks. Particularly with the swastika. The text circulating along with the photo says that the photo is of Ukrainian Vadym Troian, a former head of the Kyiv police.

However, this is not true. As Correctiv analysts have found out, the bald man in the photograph is not Vadym Troian, but a Russian neo-Nazi from St. Petersburg Oleksii Maksymov. At the same time, Ukrainian Vadym Troian was mentioned in the media when he was appointed as a chief of police in Kyiv in 2014. He has been repeatedly called a right-wing extremist, but he is not in the photo on the Internet.

According to analysts, fake photos have been circulating online since Troian was appointed as a head of the agency in 2014. It is beneficial to distribute such propaganda’s photos as confirmation that Ukrainians are Nazis. Earlier, photos of two men with Nazi tattoos, allegedly depicting Ukrainian refugees in Rijeka (Croatia), were distributed on social networks. In some reports, the photo served as an excuse for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Fake Ukrainians are scammers: they go to Germany, draw up social benefits and immediately return home

Such information was massively distributed on social networks. In particular, Whatsapp. A voice message circulating on the messenger said that Ukrainians are social scammers because they come to Germany on Flixbus, receive a Hartz IV payout, sometimes even without a registered address, and immediately return to Ukraine. The message also added that the authorities of the country tolerate all the falsifications carried out by the Ukrainians because they have such an instruction to do so.

However, as the analysts of the Corrective project write, there is no confirmation that such cases of fraud were actually recorded. Analysts asked Flixbus, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the Employment Agency if they were aware of alleged massive cases of so-called social fraud by Ukrainians. However, none of the authorities interviewed were able to confirm the story or had evidence of such incidents.

Indeed, in order to receive the Hartz IV social payment, you need to have a legal address in Germany. This is exactly the payment that the unemployed in Germany will receive; people with no income; those who cannot live on their income. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs says that only those people who have a registered address and are permanently located in Germany can receive a Hartz IV.

Message Kyiv puts pressure on the leadership of Moldova

This thesis is spread by Russian propagandists. Like, the actions of Moldova are not independent, because they are completely controlled by the so-called external forces. In particular, Ukraine and Western countries. For example, propagandists claim that Kyiv encourages the Moldovan authorities to take active steps to destabilize the situation in Transnistria.

According to EU vs Disinfo project analysts, Moldova suspended all flights to Russia in February 2022, after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, on September 9, 2022, the private company AIR Moldova announced that it would resume flights to Moscow on October 1, 2022. A few days later, the National Civil Aviation Administration announced a ban on all flights to Russia, citing "air navigation security".

Message Former NATO Secretary General Wesley Clark acknowledged that the Russian army is very competent and strong

This thesis is spread by Russian propaganda. According to the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, propagandists present their own disinformation interpretation of Clark's words as a fait accompli. In particular, they claim that he seemed to have "cooled the ardor of Ukrainians" against the background of the successful de-occupation of the territory in the Kharkiv region. Like, the former NATO Secretary General recognizes the high competence of the Russian army, which detracts from the joy of the Ukrainians.

However, Clark did not belittle Ukraine's achievements or claim that the Russian army is stronger. As the Center writes, in fact, Wesley Clark's rhetoric has remained unchanged since February 24, 2022. According to him, the only way to end the war in Ukraine is to defeat Russia. Clark is simply convinced that "you shouldn’t underestimate the enemy" as Ukraine continues to fight. However, Russian propaganda uses information manipulation to form new messages about the invincibility of the Russian army against the background of Russia's retreat under pressure from the armed forces of Ukraine. Propagandists seek to downplay the successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, demonstrating that, despite the de-occupation, Western experts, including the NATO military, consider the Russian army to be more powerful.

Disclosure Fraudsters offer Ukrainians to receive seven thousand hryvnias from confiscated assets of the Russian Federation

A message with information that all Ukrainians can receive compensation from seven thousand from confiscated assets of the Russian Federation is distributed on Facebook from a page called Info Plus.

The report says that recently in Ukraine they “signed a law” and you can become one of the first to receive funds. However, all this is an invention of scammers who use photos from well-known Ukrainian banks in their messages to make their messages look more truthful in the eyes of Ukrainians.

In fact, there is not a single law in Ukraine that allows Ukrainians to receive compensation from the confiscated assets of the Russian Federation. Also, there are no regulations that allow you to receive such payments. As the fact checker of the Brekhunets (Lier) project writes, if you go to the site indicated in the message and click on the “get paid” button, go through all the procedures on the site, a tab will open with the inscription: “to receive a multi-thousandth payment, you need to pay a commission several times”.

The scammers promise to return the so-called commission within 24 hours, and then a page opens where you need to indicate the bank card number along with confidential data. With this data, scammers can get access to the money on your cards, so never send your details to strangers.

Manipulation Kyiv no longer trusts its Western partners

Such a statement is spread by Russian propaganda, allegedly referring to the words of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov.

We are talking about Reznikov's speech during the Yalta European Strategy. During the speech, in particular, it was noted that Ukraine will never make concessions, and our goal is de-occupation up to the 1991 borders. However, according to Russian propaganda, Reznikov also said that Ukraine no longer trusts its partners. It is not true.

According to StopFake, in fact, the minister's statement was to claim that Ukraine no longer trusts formal peace protocols. Such as the Minsk agreements and the Budapest memorandum. Therefore, according to Reznikov, the upcoming act of capitulation of Russia should be formalized in the form of a multilateral agreement with security guarantees from partners that Ukraine trusts and will trust.
