Such information was disseminated on social networks, including the Georgian segment of Facebook. The authors publish the video and claim that it depicts the process of transferring Western weapons to the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas. The authors add that the transfer of weapons was allegedly initiated by the Ukrainians. In the video, a man in Arabic “thanks the Ukrainian authorities for the supply of weapons”. It's a lie.

The analysts from the Myth Detector project took on the case and found out that the speaker is not visible in the video, and the location and time of filming cannot be determined, because the video itself consists of several frames where the weapon lies on the floor. Moreover, the fact- checkers emphasize that this video is actively disseminated in the Russian segment of social networks. Neither Israeli nor international media come out with news about the transfer of weapons to Hamas. Most likely the video is compiled.

Experts also refer to a statement by the Institute for the Study of War on October 7, which states that the Kremlin is actively using the Hamas attack on Israel for information operations aimed at weakening US and Western support for Ukraine. This includes promoting the thesis of a “black market for the sale of weapons”.

By spreading such fakes, propagandists once again want to show Ukrainians as ungrateful provocateurs who want to destabilize the situation in the world and incite armed conflicts. They say that Ukrainians resell weapons on the black market and they fall into the hands of criminals. Thus, the authors undermine the authority of the Ukrainian authorities and try to disrupt future supplies of armed assistance from NATO countries. After all, such fakes previously target Western audiences and leaders in order to inspire despondency towards Ukraine’s actions.

Pro-Kremlin media write that at one of the OSCE meetings on security cooperation, the so-called ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Miroshnyk, was not allowed to attend the meeting. In the messages, the authors claim that the OSCE was “simply afraid” that a Russian representative might reveal “facts that are inconvenient for the Western public”. And they summarize that such actions are “russophobia”.

The analysts of the StopFake project analyzed the case and explained that the decision to not allow Miroshnyk to attend the meeting is solely due to the incompetence of the “ambassador”,  who is actually a collaborator and former press secretary of the ex-president and fugitive traitor Viktor Yanukovych.

In 2014, Miroshnyk cooperated with the Russian occupiers and became part of the Kremlin-controlled “administration” of captured Luhansk, a fictitious body. He has been wanted in Ukraine since 2017.

That is, the so-called russophobia is nothing more than a response to the actions of the Russian army, leadership and people. Russians and collaborators bear collective responsibility for the aggression against Ukraine, which they supported either with appropriate statements or silence. Worldwide condemnation and sanctions against the aggressor are the consequences of Russia’s criminal actions, and not vice versa, as Moscow is trying to convince everyone.

This thesis was spread in the Ukrainian segment of Facebook. The reports say that Ukraine allegedly did not declare martial law or war on Russia in general, which means that Ukraine is fighting illegally. In particular, they argue that such actions of the Ukrainian leadership are involved in an irresistible desire to seize Western resources.

There is a war going on in Ukraine, and this is understandable without announcements. For example, politician and diplomat Andrii Shevchenko explained in a comment to MediaSapiens that from a legal point of view, a declaration of war is an external matter of the state. He adds that international law does not focus on words or statements, but on actions. Therefore, from the point of view of international law, what is happening is an obvious war, a violation of the sovereignty of Ukraine.

Back in March 2022, former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar explained that there is no need to adopt a special law or decree on declaring war. She cited Article 3 of the 1974 UN Resolution on Aggression and emphasized that an invasion or attack by the armed forces of a state on the territory of another country, bombing or blockade of ports qualifies as an act of aggression.

Such information was disseminated on social networks, in particular, on telegram channels broadcasting pro-Kremlin rhetoric. Reports say that an American auditor who was investigating possible thefts in the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine was allegedly killed in Kyiv. The publications refer to an alleged press release from the Kyiv police. It's a lie.

Analysts from the StopFake project took up this case and found out that the Kyiv police did not report such an incident and did not publish a single press release about the murder of the auditor - which means this is simply an invention of Russian propaganda. The fact-checkers also contacted the US Embassy in Ukraine with a request to confirm or deny the death of an American auditor in Kyiv. The embassy told them that the “news” disseminated by Russian propaganda was fake.

Russian propaganda is trying to portray Ukraine as a cradle of corruption in order to devalue and neutralize Ukrainian intentions to combat corruption and further European integration measures. Allegedly, Ukrainian officials are ready to kill and get rid of Western auditors, just so as not to record the “theft” of Western weapons. In addition, the fight against corruption is one of the requirements of European integration. By spreading such fakes, propagandists are trying to show that corruption in Ukraine allegedly cannot be corrected, so it will not be accepted into the EU or NATO.

This thesis was spread by pro-Kremlin media. The reports say that Ukraine allegedly interferes with freedom of speech by monitoring all Ukrainians on social networks who show an anti-Ukrainian position - and if they find such, they quickly “get rid of” the person. Consequently, the authors give an example where a resident of Kharkiv was charged “for nothing”, or rather, in their words, for a simple “post on social networks”. The authors of the manipulative message add that this is “an attempt to shut the mouth of those who tell the truth”.

The analysts of the StopFake project analyzed the case and determined that the 58-year-old Kharkiv resident was charged with justifying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by the representative of the regional department of the Security Service of Ukraine Vladyslav Abdula. Actually, in his publications, which the Kremlin’s minions consider peace-loving, the man distributed propaganda materials and glorified the actions of the occupying army. And among other things, the attacker accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of shelling residential areas of Kharkiv.

The fact-checkers explain that in March 2022, the Criminal Code of Ukraine was supplemented with Article 436-2, which provides for liability for justifying, recognizing the legitimate armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine, and glorifying its participants. That is, the actions of the SSU against the man are completely legal and not an “attack on freedom of speech”. Manipulators are trying to shift responsibility for crimes onto Ukraine, so it is obvious that they call the “shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Kharkiv” truthful, but also the Russian occupiers - valiant.
