In fact, the Washington Post article "Norway portrayed as both hero and villain of Europe's energy crisis" is devoted to changes in the structure of the gas market in Europe and consumers' reactions to it. "Quoting" the alleged current words of the Polish prime minister, the propagandists resorted to manipulation. Poland gave up Russian gas in May, filled its storage facilities to 100% in August, and the Baltic Pipe for transporting Norwegian gas became operational as early as September. Moreover, the agitprop said that allegedly the Ukrainian military can`t reach the level of military training according to NATO standards. Furthermore, the successful counteroffensive of the Armed Forces is due to the Pentagon's direct participation in the development of the plan.

Reports spread on social networks that Russia allegedly established the identity of the man who committed the "terrorist attack" on the Crimean Bridge. He turned out to be a Ukrainian. His passport allegedly evidences it. Photos are added to messages. This photo is fake.

The photo of the passport of the "terrorist" actually turned out to be a photo-edited image illustrating a sample passport of a citizen of Ukraine (ID card) on Wikipedia. The authors of the fake changed only the name, photo, and gender, and all other "document details" remained the same as in Wikipedia. Fraudsters also added alleged blood stains or damage "due to a terrorist attack" with the help of a photo editor. The same picture was also used for a fake Twitter account.

In fact, there is no objective evidence of Ukraine's involvement in the explosion on the Crimean Bridge. The Ukrainian authorities also rejected any accusations in this regard.

In fact, the Russians drew the "swastika" on the bracelet of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, themselves, using a compressed image, which made the Scandinavian symbol distorted. This information was spread by anonymous Telegram channels. The message about the explosions also appeared in the "yeTryvoga" application, later it was edited that this information was from the mass media, so it doesn`t correspond to reality.

Viktor Mykyta, the head of the Zakarpattia regional military administration, noted that on the morning of October 10, when this message appeared, no rocket strikes were recorded on the territory of Zakarpattia.

"In general, the region was not affected, there were some power outages, but Oblenergo managed it," Viktor Mykyta said. He asked everyone to stay in shelters during the air alert and not to move on the streets.

On October 10, an air alert was declared on the entire territory of the country, except for Crimea, from the very morning. Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Vinnytsya, Ternopil, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv came under rocket fire. The explosion took place in Konotop, Sumy Oblast, Kryvyi Rih. The organization has about 700 employees who work in 10 locations across Ukraine and deliver aid and medicine. They can`t do this under fire. If the danger passes, the International Committee of the Red Cross will resume full-fledged work in Ukraine.

Russian propagandists spread this information and as evidence, they cite photos of empty shelves. It is not true. Firstly, the photo caption doesn`t mention the information about the time and store in which the photos were taken. Secondly, on October 10 in Kyiv, the air alert lasted from 6:47 a.m. to 12:24 p.m. and started again at 3:14 p.m. At this time, all stores are closed and don`t serve customers. Thirdly, "Detector Media" visited one of Kyiv's supermarkets on the left bank of the city during the break between announcements of danger and made sure that all products were in abundance, there was not a single empty shelf, and there were no queues at the cash registers. There are also ATMs, it is possible to withdraw cash and buy food at kiosks.

Such information was spread by well-known Russian propagandists. According to them, the offices of the Security Service of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine, as well as the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, are located on Volodymyrska Street in Kyiv. Allegedly, that's where the Russian rockets hit. Propagandists confused the dome of the Kyiv city teacher's house with the dome of the Verkhovna Rada, which is located in another place.

It is profitable for propagandists to spread the thesis that they hit the target - in the premises of state authorities, to intimidate Ukrainians, allegedly, making the state unable to work.

In reality, Russian terrorists are fighting against peaceful residents and Ukrainian culture. In Kyiv, on Volodymyrska Street, Russian rockets damaged the Taras Shevchenko University, the Khanenko Museum, the Shevchenko Museum, the playground in Shevchenko Park, and residential buildings in the center of the capital. All authorities work and keep in touch with the citizens of Ukraine. At the beginning of March, propagandists released a deepfake video online, in which Zelenskyy allegedly talked about the surrender of Donbas and offered to lay down arms.

Russian Telegram channels and the pro-Russian online publication Strana.ua in Ukraine write about this. In fact, it is not so.

The idea to create such a stamp belongs to the director of "Ukrposhta" Ihor Smilyansky, who on August 9, after the explosion in Crimea, wrote: "What, is it time?" and published a sketch of the new stamp with the Crimean bridge.

The "CHESNO" movement picked up the initiative and prepared the "Information Resistance" exhibition for the Independence Day of Ukraine, a part of which is the "Bavovna over the Crimean Bridge" photo zone stamp. A huge stamp could be seen on Podil near the Ferris wheel from August until the middle of September.

On September 18, it was installed in Khreschatyk, near the building of the capital city hall. The explosion on the Crimean Bridge occurred at dawn on October 8. Russian propagandists, including presenter Olga Skabeeva, didn`t like the photo zone "Bavovna over the Crimean Bridge".

They complain about how Ukrainians can enjoy someone else's grief and take pictures next to images of destroyed infrastructure. At the same time, "CHESNO" urges: "Well, it is definitely an excuse to go there and take a photo!

To anger Skabeeva, come to the KSCA, the stamp is there." "Ukrposhta" has published a sketch of a new stamp called "Crimean Bridge - END (vsyo)" and is preparing it for release.

Such information is spread by the Russian mass media and users on social networks.

At dawn on October 6, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the territory of the Shepetiv district of the Khmelnytskyi region. As the head of the regional military administration, Serhiy Gamalii, reported, one rocket fell next to an infrastructure object, and the other fell on a cemetery. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the missile strike. Partially damaged residential buildings and farm buildings.

These messages are distributed by Russian propaganda media and anonymous telegram channels. The report says that after the pseudo-referenda ZNPP came under the jurisdiction of Rosatom. However, this is not true.

According to the Center for Combating Disinformation, there can be no transfer of the ZNPP under the jurisdiction of Rosatom. The invaders actually carried out a raider seizure of the nuclear power plant by stealing the seal. The President of Energoatom, Deputy General Director of ZNPP Petro Kotin, issued an order to invalidate the stolen seal of the previous sample, and also approved the use of the new seal from October 6, 2022.

By spreading such manipulative statements, the Kremlin is trying to increase the world's nuclear blackmail and try to intimidate Ukraine's partner countries. Previously, propagandists spread reports that allegedly the Zaporizhzhia NPP was in a “catastrophic” state, and Russia had saved it. 

Such messages are distributed on social networks, in particular in anonymous telegram channels. They say that the experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) who visited the Zaporizhzhia NPP witnessed the shelling of the station from Ukraine. Like, the IAEA mission confirmed that the station is under Ukrainian attacks. However, this is not true.

As EU vs Disinfo analysts have verified, the IAEA did not report any “Ukrainian bombing/attack” either before or after this disinformation story. Although IAEA experts did record shelling in the vicinity of the station, they did not attribute it to any side. The statement then came from a local collaborator "appointed" by the Russian occupation authorities, and not from the IAEA.

Thus, the propagandists are trying to accuse Ukraine of dangerous actions around the Zaporizhzhia NPP and absolve themselves of any responsibility. Russia has carried out many threatening actions around the Zaporizhzhia NPP, including placing military equipment and troops on the territory of the station, using its environs as a missile base, and interrupting power lines. In addition, Russia rejected UN proposals to demilitarize the territories around the ZNPP because it deliberately waged a campaign of intimidation with the risks of a nuclear catastrophe in order to advance its goals in Ukraine.

Russian telegram channels, in particular "voyenkory", as well as a network of telegram channels controlled by Russian intelligence, spread dozens of messages about the use or preparation for the use of the "newest laser complex - Peresvit".

The messages scared the readers of the unknown but catastrophic consequences of the use of weapons, while the "voyenkory" rejoiced and waited for rehabilitation after the defeats in the Kharkiv, Kherson, and Luhansk regions. And they spread photos of light poles shining into the sky - both in Belgorod and in other cities of Russia, for example, Moscow. Some media even described how the laser complex "blinded the NATO satellites" and stopped working.

However the propagandists spread a fake: in the photos taken in the cities of Russia, one of the most common types of the halo is a light pole. It is a natural atmospheric phenomenon that occurs when light reflects off microscopic ice crystals in the air, mostly from the Sun and Moon. Halos come in almost any shape, with nearly a hundred varieties recorded, but the most common is the circle around the Moon and the pillars of light at sunset. Moreover, pillars can arise from other light sources, for example, powerful lighting devices.

Little else is known about the Russian "newest laser complex". Putin announced its appearance in 2018, and hypothetically this complex should interfere with the operation of satellites functioning at an altitude of up to 1.5 thousand kilometers, but there is no reliable data on the testing or use of this complex, as well as evidence that it exists at all.

In Ukrainian social networks, there are widespread reports that allegedly three years ago the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko was fired to "prevent him from applying for Ukraine's accession to NATO." The contributors claim that Zelenskyy deliberately did this "while Muzhenko was on his way to the summit", "so that he would not have the authority". The message became viral in the context of the public signing by the president of Ukraine's application to join NATO in an accelerated manner. This message is fake. The summit of the leaders of the member countries of the Alliance was indeed held in December 2019. However, Viktor Muzhenko could not be a participant, because he was dismissed from the post of Chief of the General Staff by the decree of the President of Ukraine № 301/2019 dated May 21, 2019. Therefore, he could neither represent the country at the summit nor submit any documents on its behalf.

Viktor Muzhenko confirmed in a StopFake comment that he was in Brussels in May 2019. At that time, a meeting of the NATO Military Committee was held, in particular in the Ukraine-NATO format (May 21). At this meeting, Muzhenko was supposed to represent Ukraine (AFU), but on the eve of the meeting, the Decree of the President of Ukraine was signed on his dismissal. By the decision of the Military Committee, Muzhenko was allowed to make a speech as a representative of Ukraine. There was no mention of an application to join NATO.

In January 2019, there was another meeting of the military leaders of the member countries of the Alliance, in which Muzhenko took part - the meeting of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels. At that time, Petro Poroshenko was still the president of Ukraine. However, there was no discussion of applying to join NATO at this meeting either. Russian propaganda tries to devalue, ridicule, and discredit Ukraine's desire to become a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Russian media and anonymous Telegram channels actively reacted to the statement of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy about applying for accelerated accession to NATO with numerous fakes and manipulations.

Pro-Russian blogger-propagandist Yehor Myslyvets reproached this. Some Russian deputies allegedly unlike Ukrainian people's deputies, decided to go to the front.

For six months, none of the officials has gone to protect their country, and does not explain why they are not doing it. It is not true.

As reported by Stop Fake fact-checkers, several current and former people's deputies personally went to defend the country both as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in the ranks of territorial defense.

Moreover, the Ukrainian mass media repeatedly wrote about such examples. Among those who defend Ukraine from the Russian army are deputies from the faction of the "Holos" party Roman Kostenko and Roman Lozynskyi, people's deputies from the faction "European Solidarity" Mykhailo Zabrodskyi, Volodymyr Vyatrovych, and Andriy Parubiy.

The former parliament speaker Oleksandr Turchynov and the general prosecutor and ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yuriy Lutsenko became soldiers. 

This information is spread by the Kremlin mass media. American mercenaries allegedly should participate in hostilities.

To prove it, they cite an ad on the American recruiting agency Silent Professionals website for a job search in the field of protection and security, where a vacancy has been published. It involves work in the territory of Ukraine. However, it is not related to direct participation in hostilities. The job description is titled "Extraction/Protective Agents". It states that the employer is looking for a specialist for the evacuation operations of individuals and families from rural areas and large cities in Ukraine. Moreover, the claim of a "massive recruitment of mercenaries" is a propagandist fantasy, as the vacancy says that the company is looking for several agents or an evacuation and protection team, according to Stop Fake.

The existence of such an announcement cannot be proof of the fact that mercenaries are allegedly fighting for Ukraine. Foreign citizens who take direct part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine are not mercenaries. They enter into the service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, submit to their command, and receive the same financial support as citizens of Ukraine. Those legionnaires who did not want to sign a contract with the Armed Forces joined volunteer battalions. They have no material benefit - most of them have personal, ideological reasons to protect justice and the rights of Ukrainians.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian propaganda has been promoting in the public space the thesis that foreigners who fight for Ukraine are allegedly mercenaries and are guided by the desire to receive material rewards, so Russia will not use the norms of the Geneva Convention against these "criminals". It is worth mentioning that many mercenaries in the Russian army came to Ukraine with weapons to earn money.

Russian mass media spread such information. This happened allegedly after the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions "joined" Russia.

The so-called "referendums" were held in the four temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine and were not recognized by any democratic country in the world. People who didn`t evacuate from these regions were forced to participate in pseudo-referendums by blackmail and threats, and sometimes at gunpoint. Their "results" don`t reflect the will of the Ukrainians.

These pseudo-votes don`t change the borders of Ukraine, and the "temporarily occupied" status of several Ukrainian territories doesn`t deprive Ukraine of the right to use the internal seas.

The tragic news was spread by Russian propaganda media and pro-Russian bloggers concerning Rodion Miroshnyk, who calls himself the ambassador of the occupied part of the Luhansk region. It allegedly happened near Kupiansk. The wounded were taken to a hospital in Luhansk.

During the spread of other fake, the propagandists made several inaccuracies. As fact-checkers from the "Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Center" reported, all reports of this type do not contain videos and photos from the "place of the event". All illustrative photos used by propagandists have nothing to do with this fake.

The Kremlin propaganda media could not determine the date of the "shelling" and, at the same time, claimed that it was September 29, September 27, and September 25.

Propagandists are confused about the types of weapons with which they allegedly "shelled the column of refugees." Some talk about firearms, and some - about artillery.

The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed that at the end of September, in the so-called "grey zone" between the occupied Svatov in the Luhansk region and the liberated Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, the Russians shelled a civilian convoy of seven cars.

"At least 20 people died, including 10 children. A brutal attack on civilians was made by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the occupiers - they shelled six old cars and one Gazelle truck closely with firearms. The enemy once again proved that his goal was the destruction of all Ukrainians, regardless of age and gender. The occupiers are defeated on the battlefield and respond to these losses and hopelessness by murdering civilians" said the acting head of SSU Vasyl Malyuk.

Such "news" of Russian propaganda is another attempt by the Kremlin to accuse the Ukrainian army of "atrocities" typical of the Russian military. On September 30, due to a Russian rocket attack on a civilian humanitarian convoy in Zaporizhzhia, which was trying to leave for the occupied territory, 30 people died, and almost a hundred were injured.

Accordingly, they face up to 15 years in prison. This is how the Russian occupiers intimidate the residents in order to prevent them from going to the controlled territories of Ukraine.

The Mariupol City Council reports: "Ukraine is waiting for all its citizens who live in the temporarily occupied Mariupol. They are ready to support and provide maximum assistance in the controlled territories. For this help, there was created a network of "Ya Mariupol" centers. Here you can get humanitarian, legal, psychological, and social assistance."

Russian propaganda has been spreading such theses since at least August 2022, manipulating a sensitive issue. Most of the people in the temporarily occupied territories live on the edge of survival and are forced to receive Russian humanitarian aid, dismantle rubble and rebuild houses for receiving food.

Ukrainian law does not provide for responsibility for receiving Russian humanitarian aid in the occupied territories. Such statements are made in order to intimidate the residents of the temporarily occupied territories, allegedly after the de-occupation, the residents will face criminal liability.

Such news is spreading by the Kremlin propaganda media, as well as by pro-Russian telegram channels. The reports say that it was the Armed Forces of Ukraine that fired rockets at the car market at the exit from Zaporizhzhia and hit the column that was trying to get into the temporarily occupied territory. However, this is an outright lie.

Today at 7:10 am Russian troops launched rocket attacks in the area of the car market near the Zaporizhzhia - Orikhov highway. At that time, there were dozens of civilians in cars trying to get into the temporarily occupied territories. Then 248 cars were registered for departure.

Mostly these are locals who transport household items, food products, and medicines to their relatives in the occupied territory. Among the wounded there is a volunteer from Melitopol, he is in serious condition in the hospital.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko said that Russia fired 16 missiles from the S-300 complex at Zaporizhzhia. Four rocket strikes were carried out in the area of the car market, they also hit the exit point from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, where there was a column of cars with civilians heading to their relatives.

At the moment, there is information about 23 dead and 62 wounded who were taken to hospitals in Zaporizhzhia.

According to British intelligence, the Russian army probably used a long-range air defense missile not intended for ground targets to strike Zaporizhzhia.

Such a statement is spread by propagandists along with a fabricated document. It says that the head of the Vinnytsia regional police department allegedly announces a so-called partial mobilization for students. Like, students of secondary and higher professional educational institutions fall under the mobilization. However, this is not true.

According to the Bukvy publication they received a message from a Russian who distributed the so-called document. However, such a document does not really exist.

Adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mykhailo Podoliak said earlier that Ukraine does not plan to announce additional mobilization against the backdrop of Russian fake "referendums" and the so-called partial mobilization in Russia. “We have already created reserves through the territorial defense system and actively use these reserves. We do not plan to announce additional mobilization today. We have everything and we are ready for more Russian military”, Podoliak said.

This news is spreading on social networks, in particular in the Russian and Ukrainian segments of Facebook. Amnesty International Secretary-General Agnes Callamard is reportedly urging the Ukrainian military not to fire at newly mobilized and not yet trained Russian soldiers. After all, shooting at them is very unfair. A photo collage is attached to the publication, where the secretary general is allegedly standing in the center of Moscow. However, the official did not make such appeals.

According to StopFake's fact-checkers, Amnesty International's general secretary, Agnès Callamard, made no such claims. This statement was first published by a parody Twitter account, after which it circulated online without indicating the source. This Twitter page regularly posts satirical fictitious news and sneers about Russian propaganda.
