Disclosure A fake site of the international battalion was created online.

The Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council's Center for Counteracting Misinformation warned that a fake portal, a twin site of the International Battalion, had been created online. The link to the official site is here.

Manipulation Borrell said that the Russian ruble resists sanctions well.

Russian media disseminated a quote from EU High Representative Josep Borrel that the Russian ruble allegedly "resists sanctions well. на своей специализированной радио COPE." Это , Borrel did не express a passion для российской экономики," Center explained.

Manipulation Zelenskyy is being guarded by foreign mercenaries.

Anonymous telegram channels controlled by Russian special services have been circulating reports that President Vladimir Zelenskyy is allegedly being guarded by foreign mercenaries - supposedly he does not trust Ukrainian ones. This report, as well as the manipulative conclusions, rests entirely on the fact that one of the defenders accompanying the president to Bucha has the Ukrainian flag upside down on his chevron. There could be many explanations for this, from "the wrong chevron" to "the identification mark of a certain group" (e.g., the inverted Ukrainian flag is used by Azov) or "an indication of the state of war." The military also confirms this to Media Detector. In fact, the Ukrainian flag we are used to - blue on top, yellow on the bottom - approved only in 1918. There is also an opinion that the flag is turned upside down as a sign of distress or war. More about this myth was written by "On the other side of the news". In addition, the footage from Bucha shows Zelenskyy's security guard, the first deputy head of the Department - the head of the Security Service of the President of Ukraine of the State Security Directorate, Maksym Donets, constantly visible.

Manipulation The event supplies Ukraine with substandard and outdated weapons.

Russian propaganda spreads a fake that "Western countries supply low-quality and outdated weapons to Ukraine," or that "it is simply impossible to stop cruise missile strikes with Javelin and Stinger. The Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council denied these reports, recalling that since February 25, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has regularly reported on downed Russian cruise missiles: over the Vinnitsa, Kherson, Kharkov, and Nikolaev regions. "In this way the aggressor is trying to sow panic among the population. Having met resistance in the temporarily occupied territories, the enemy resorts to information terrorism in order to demoralize Ukrainians and stop their resistance, the Center said. - In this way, the enemy is probably already preparing the information field for victorious messages about "new liberated settlements in Donbass, which will be presented as territories under temporary occupation since 2014".

Manipulation Ukrainian refugees have no plans to return from Western countries.

Anonymous telegrams controlled by Russian special services spread the message that "Ukraine has already lost those who were forced to go abroad. These manipulative messages state that "data from sociologists" show that Ukrainians who were forced to leave for Western countries because of Russia's war do not plan to return. In fact, Razumkov Center polls show that 79 percent of refugees plan to return to Ukraine after the war ends, 11 percent of Ukrainians are hesitant and only 10 percent do not plan to return. According to the UN, as of April 3, the number of Ukrainian refugees exceeded 4.2 million.

Fake The Ukrainian authorities are not interested in saving the lives of the Mariupol defenders.

The Russian Defense Ministry and Russian propagandists spread this message, announcing their plans to "clean up the city". In fact, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to evacuate the wounded and dead from Mariupol, and Turkey can also provide ships for evacuation of the inhabitants of the city by sea. However, Russia has not yet given its consent. "It is impossible to reach Mariupol. And they [representatives of Turkey] can go from Berdyansk, and you understand that it is still necessary to get to Berdyansk. In other words, we have all the infrastructure ready to transport the wounded and killed, and we are waiting for Putin's agreement. I talked to Erdogan, and Erdogan talks to him and now it's up to him [Putin] to make this happen," Zelenskyy said. In addition, the Ukrainian Security Service reported that the Russian occupants are preparing a large-scale provocation in Mariupol, in order to blame Ukraine for the alleged murder of civilians. According to the SBU, the occupants are preparing a large-scale fabrication: they plan to collect in one place the bodies of the Mariupol residents killed by the Russians themselves, and present them as "mass victims of the Ukrainian troops".

Fake The Ukrainian military blew up a nitric acid tanker in Rubizhne.

Pro-Kremlin telegram channels are spreading a fake, the Ukrainian military allegedly blew up a tanker with nitric acid in Rubezhnoye, Luhansk region. The head of the Luhansk regional military administration Sergei Gaidai said that the nitric acid tank at the Zarya plant was damaged as a result of Russian artillery shelling. Along with this, propagandists once again try to tell about the preparation of "provocations with the use of poisoned substances" by Ukraine. The Media Detector has already repeatedly refuted these fakes; both Ukrainian and foreign authorities have previously warned about the possibility of Russian attacks using chemical substances.

Fake A former US ambassador to Russia has said that Zelenskyy's entourage are intermediaries in a "scheme" to buy weapons.

The Russian news website REN.TV wrote that some branches of the US military industry are allegedly interested in delaying military actions on the territory of Ukraine because they receive substantial profit from this. At the same time, REN.TV quoted former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul as saying to Politico that President Vladimir Zelensky's entourage is allegedly an intermediary in this "scheme. McFaul himself is referred to by Russian propagandists as "a freelance adviser to Zelensky." In fact, according to StopFake, REN.TV took McFaul's quote out of context, significantly distorting what he said. Michael McFaul spoke to Politico about lobbying Ukraine's interests in the United States; his quote about Zelensky's entourage refers to interaction with the American media and the US political elite. Michael McFaul also denied StopFake was a "freelance adviser to Zelensky." "The article's author's claim that the U.S. military industry is interested in delaying military action in Ukraine is also manipulation. The Kremlin claims that the so-called "special operation" can only be stopped when the "demilitarization" of Ukraine is completed and Kiev "stops fighting," refuses to join any bloc. "" and recognizes Crimea as Russian and the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics as independent," StopFake writes. - Ukraine insists that the end of the war is possible only after the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the country and the provision of a number of security guarantees to Ukraine.
