Pentagon Press Secretary Todd Breasseale called Shoigu's message false and said that the Ukrainians "use with striking accuracy and efficiency every high-precision missile system that the United States and partners have provided to defend against the brutal criminal Russia invasion." The commander Andriy Kovalchuk also confirmed that the Russian invaders did not manage to destroy a single HIMARS system. At the beginning of August, the number of HIMARS in service with the Ukrainian military officially reached sixteen systems, and shortly there should be twenty-two of them.
