Russians are spreading fakes claiming that the command leaves some soldiers behind to cover the withdrawal of Ukraine’s Defense Forces from Pokrovsk

Russian propaganda is spreading false information claiming that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly leaves “suicide troops” behind to cover the withdrawal of Ukrainian units on the Pokrovsk sector of the front. In reality, these reports have nothing to do with the facts and serve only as information cover for crimes committed by the Russian army. The Center for Countering Disinformation reported on the spread of these false claims.

The Center warns that the Kremlin deliberately uses lies to justify its own losses and to create the illusion of weakness within Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The government body notes that such information attacks are a typical tool of Russia’s hybrid warfare. Their aim is to discredit the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, undermine trust in it among servicemembers, and sow fear among residents of frontline areas.
