Fake French gendarmes arrived in Kyiv to cover up the traces of staged provocations.
By insinuating that Ukraine killed its own citizens in the Kiev region and staged crimes by the Russian army, Russian propaganda continued with an attempt to discredit the international investigation into war crimes. La croix writes that on April 11, a detachment of 16 experts from the Institute of Criminalistics of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) arrived in Ukraine to identify the victims and establish the causes of death at the scene directly. They are specialists in identification, ballistics and explosive engineering. It is known that other countries will join France in the investigation: the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany have pledged $2.7 million to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to support the investigation of war crimes committed in Ukraine. Lithuania, Poland and Germany are conducting their own investigations; Austria is also planning to do so.
