The Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council says that the stories about the nuclear weapon in Ukraine is a myth of the Russian government. This is done in order to position Ukraine as a country that develops a nuclear arsenal.

The propagandists say that Kyiv used the Chornobyl zone to produce plutonium and make a "dirty bomb", the simplest radiological weapon, consisting of radioactive material and explosives. Finally, they claim that the United States assisted Ukraine in its nuclear program and that the nuclear device was assembled on the basis of the School of Physics and Technology of University of Kharkiv.
