The Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine refutes fakes about Ukraine's candidacy for the European Union. EU candidacy for Ukraine is not just a formal decision. The status of a candidate for joining the EU opens up access for Ukraine to new grants and investments from EU states.

To become a full member of the EU, Ukraine must take several steps:

- continue the reform of the judicial system;

- strengthen the fight against corruption;

- ensure compliance with anti-money laundering legislation with FATF standards;

- implement the anti-oligarchic law;

- bring media legislation to EU standards;

- improve the legislation on national minorities.
